Ecommerce SEO case study: 144K Google clicks for a US lighting store
Consistent, compounding SEO for a US commercial lighting and bulb supply store, from keyword strategy to monthly link building.
What needed to change
The store sells commercial light fixtures and bulbs, a catalog with thousands of products and very specific searches. It needed to rank for those searches across the US, with no strategy, structure or authority in place when the work began.
What the data shows
From May 2022 to September 2023 the store earned 144K Google clicks and 13.4M impressions. By September 2023 Ahrefs showed it ranking for 20,052 keywords, 423 of them in the Top 3 and 1,991 more in positions 4–10, with 8,705 monthly organic visitors (8.3K of them from the United States), worth an estimated $5.4K a month. Organic traffic grew from about 6K to 8.7K a month over that year. By April 2024 it had 8,600+ monthly visitors, 389 referring domains and a Domain Rating of 43.
